Personal:

Married Betty Krob 1961 and had 5 children (4 girls and 1 boy). Divorced: 1976 and had custody of the kids. In July 1976 married Shari Brooks. We made our home in and around Anchorage,AK until 1987 when we moved to California. In 1994 we moved to Oklahoma, making our home in Enid. In 1996.we had a daughter and family in Redmond, WA and a daughter and. family near Sacramento, CA; the other three kids with their families live near Enid.

Hobbies:

Fishing, hunting and camping with the family. Teaching grandkids about the outdoors and nature.

Other Information:

We were able to be full-time RV from 1994 until January when We purchased an older mobile home and moved out of the travel trailer, Don was a very kind person with a warm spirit and incredible sense of humor. He enjoyed life and made the best of.every situatipn, He left his imprint on everyone.he encountered and he will be sorely missed.

Obituary

Donald Leon Ard

A graveside service for Donald Leon Ard, age 68, was held at 2 pm March 27, 2006, at the Memorial Park Garden Chapel. with Chaplain Bud Ruggia officiating. Arrangements were by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

He was born to Alfred and Helen Mildred (Kuntz) Ard on July 24, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, and died Thursday, March 23, 2006, in Enid, OK.

He grew up in Kansas, attending schools there. He was in the United States Marines for ten years, serving in the Vietnam War. On July 22, 1976, he married Shari Carter in Anchorage, Alaska, where they made their home. He worked as an electrician and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired to the Enid, OK area in 1996. He was a member of the Aline Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Shari of the home; four daughters, Inez Mobley and husband Bill of Redmond, WA, Leslie Poole and husband Jamie of Wilton, CA, Jonna Ard and Scott Schuelke of Cherokee, OK, and Bonita Patterson and husband Mark Of Aline, OK; one son Oben Ard and wife Erin of Meno, OK; one sister, LaVon Dalgarn and husband Glen of Meade, KS; 12 grandchildren; and his first wife, Betty Mitchell. He was proceded in death by one son, Mathew Ard.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Mary's Volunteer Program.
