Just a note to let you know tbat I wiii be unable to attend the reunion.
My husband and I have an RVand we are going to be spending the summer in
Estes Park, CO. Anyone familiar with Houston in the summer knows that
it is not the best place to be and so ... we have this opportunity for
most of the summer.
I will try to give you a little information about myself nothing real
exciting.. but that is fine and can actually be a blessing!
I have lived in Houston since the 70's. I taught first and second grade
for 20 years in the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School. I have 2 sons
and my husband has 2 daughters. We have 6 grandchildren between us and
thoroughly enjoy being grandparents. My older son lives in Houston, so
each week, we are able to spend time with them.
When we are in town, my time is spent doing volunteer work at the
neighborhood school, spending time with my grandchi1dren, working in our
subdivision women's club, and doing weekly bible study.
Judy (Ross) Bird and I are still in touch and, in fact, we will see them
this summer while we are in Colorado. Obviously, after all these years,
I have adjusted to city living. but at times yearn for those "wide open
spaces" and those beautiful fields of wheat!! I continue to feel very
blessed and am SO grateful that I was raised in a small town. The
advantages far outweigh the disadvantanges!! I have such fond
memories of Meade ....and, especially my classmates of 1956!!
I will miss being with you. I'm sure there will be many hours of
sharing memories and I wish for each of you a healthy. peaceful AND
joyful life!!!
