Name: Ronald Cordes

Ron was born in Meade and attended grades 1-8 in rural schools, and grades 9-12 at Meade High School. After graduating in 1956, Ron joined the Navy, where he served four years. After his military service, he was a carpenter in El Monte, California for approximately two years. He returned to Kansas in 1963, where he worked for a general contractor in Hutchinson for approximately two years. He returned to Meade in 1967 and began working for Eads Inc., a mechanical contracting firm. In 1988, Ron and Betty bought the business from Art Eads and have operated it since then.

Ron was married in California in 1960. He and his wife had two children, a girl and a boy; they were divorced in 1964. In 1969, Ron married Betty, who is from Eastern Kansas and has four children, 2 boys and 2 girls. They have 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. They are blessed in that some of them live close by and they can share special times.
